"Deadline Extension for applying for France Scholarships"

Under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Nadia El Feky, the Vice Dean for Students Affairs & Prof. Dr. Mohammed El Sada , SSS Supervisor. We would like to announce the availability of 8 spots for Kasr Al Ainy students to have a training in France this summer. The scholarship includes the tuition fees & the boarding & lodging fees, so you only have to pay for the flights!! The scholarship is available for students in 4th & 5th years in Kasr Al Ainy. Students from years 1-3 are not eligible & are encouraged to apply in the coming years. 6th year students' applications were turned down last year, but you can still apply but we are not sure that the application will be accepted this year, give it a shot!! To apply for this opportunity, you have to prepare a CV ( Curriculum Vitae) & A LETTER OF MOTIVATION ( an article that explains why do you think you should be chosen for this opportunity). The letter should be between 1-2 pages (not less than 1 & not more than 2). Both documents should be presented by email on Ahmed Aboulnour's or Reem Elwy's personal email & also given to either personally at the SSS office. Anti-H1N1 National Campaign

We as SCOPH national team believe in the great importance of active participation in our community to face superimposed problem as H1N1 pandemic .so we started a campaign,which targeted about 45.000 person .they included school children ,public & medical students.we as the SSS held our campaign inside the medical campus & under supervision of the Vice dean 's office & this campaign with in cooperation of SHA students for health awareness .we gave sessions for our colleagues in between lectures .in addition to the direct awareness through the information booth we created .we targeted more than 3000 medical students during a 10 days campaign . ...Go There >>

On 8th of October , The SSS General Assembly was held where a new team of officials was elected to take the responsibility of SSS during the upcoming term (2009 – 2010) . We –SSSians- thank the 2008-2009 Board for their high motivation , innovating ideas and appreciated work during their term . H1N1 : We're getting ready.

As part of the standing committee on public health ongoing efforts to provide medical students with all the necessary information about the possible swine flu epidemic, everyone is invited to attend a workshop on the H1N1 subject that is to be held this Saturday, the 26th of Sept. at 10 am, at Al Manyal el Game3y Hospital. The workshop is under the supervision of Prof.Dr.Ashraf Hatem, Director General of Cairo University Hospitals.

Finding the SSS Founder!

An unforgettable day! After 40 years, Prof.Dr.Ahmed Saeed Abdelsalam, SSS President 1968, stepped into the 2009 SSS headquarter! We had this priceless moment showing him the SSS lounge with "Since 1968" painted on its wall as he gave us this big warm smile and immediately took out his mobile and took a picture which, to us, was just heartening:) We had a delightful gathering after Prof.Dr.Nabil Arafa (who was the SSS secretary general back in the seventies ) & Prof.Dr.Salma Dawara joined us, and every single word they spoke, O God, was magic! They spoke of memories they had, they told us stories, tips and advices. IFMSA March Meeting 2009 in Tunisia

The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) is an independent, non-governmental and non-political federation of medical students' associations throughout the world. As of March 2007 IFMSA has grown to 102 members, National Member Organizations from around 100 countries on six continents and represented more than 1 million medical students worldwide. The federation is known to have two general assembly meetings, one in March and one in August where so many trainings, standing committees sessions, workshops & many other events are held. The 5TH Eastern Mediterranean Regional Meeting-EMR 5

The 5TH Eastern Mediterranean Regional Meeting-EMR 5- has just been held under the theme of “Towards A smoking Free Hospital” This year it was be held from the 3rd to the 7th of February in the wonderful city of Hurghada, Egypt. Many of our old and new members traveled to join as part of the SSS delegation. A national competition was held for the logo and slogan for IFMSA-Egypt SCOPE. The competition was fierce and logos were designed and sent from local committees all over Egypt, Luckily the SSS won the logo competition by a very unique and outstanding logo designed by our talented member Mohammed Abdel Rahman. Member of the Month- December 2008

Congratulations for Ahmed El Rouby and Bassem El Dawy for the member of the month ! December had passed, the last month of the year 2008; it was a perfect month full of projects and work. From AIDS campaign and celebrating the world AIDS day to ending the Hepatitis Campaign, many members shared in amazing and various local and national projects. As a reward to their amazing effort, the board of officials decided to choose the nominees for the best members of that month, and the winner was chosen by an online poll in which all members were asked to join and vote. In three days, our great members Ahmed Rouby and Bassem El Dawy were chosen as the members of the month for the categories old members and new members respectively.
