The IFMSA-Egypt is ruled by the General Assembly, the highest authority in decision making.

During this meeting, around 200 medical students from allover Egypt meet. It’s held 5 times a year, in a different city each time. Elections of the national board, amendment of our constitution and bylaws, adopting reports and other administrative management take place during the preliminary sessions.

The standing committees’ sessions represent a very important part of the national meetings and during them, national scientific ideas are discussed. National projects are the result of such scientific gatherings where all Local Committees agree to share in organizing a big national event.

Special meetings are arranged twice a year and last for couple of days. During these meetings, local committee representatives hold extensive meetings, have more time for more comprehensive discussions and spend some more time having fun during a social program organized by the hosting local committee.

The SSS has shared in organizing many national projects in the field of public health.

The Diabetes & Hypertension Training is an activity organized by local committees inside their university campuses and aims at increasing the awareness of the youth about the significant chronic diseases common in the Egyptian community, most importantly Diabetes & Hypertension.

The national convention on AIDS, held on World AIDS Day, is one of the most outstanding activities the IFMSA-Egypt organizes on a yearly basis. The event is prestigiously sponsored by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) which is one of the most notable partners for the IFMSA-Egypt.

In cooperation with UNAIDS, the Standing Committee on Reproductive Health including AIDS (SCORA) has organized a Peer-Education Training that certifies its attendants to be internationally accredited peer-education trainers.

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is another national project that’s aimed at raising the medical students’ awareness about breast cancer and its related issues.

In the Field of medical education, the SSS shared in the huge unprecedented Research Methodology Course organized by the IFMSA-Egypt in cooperation with the National Research Center (NRC). The course took place during July & August and 55 students from different medical schools in Egypt attended the training.

Questionnaire aimed at evaluating the efficiency of the education system were distributed in different medical schools to obtain the students’ feedback. This was part of another project organized by the IFMSA-Egypt, “Teaching Methodology of Lectures” (TeMeLe).

Influence of Study on Students’ Health (ISSH) is a project aimed at investigating the effect of the stress caused by studying in the medical school on the general well being of the medical student.

The National Exchange Officer is the link between the Local Exchange Officers and the foreign countries National Exchange Officers. During the IFMSA meetings, the national officers sign the exchange contracts that regulate the exchange process between each 2 countries according to the exchange conditions stated by each local committee.

The National Exchange Officer distributes the foreign incoming students to different local committees and is responsible for collecting the documents of Egyptian outgoing students from local officers to hand them to the foreign national officer.

Every local committee aims, during organizing the exchange program, at being an honorable representative for Egypt as transmitting a good image through the quality and friendliness of the program is always a goal.

The SCOHP is the newest member in the family of IFMSA-Egypt, and as such, its vision isn't clear yet. However, we’re sure it will play a major role in the coming years.

For the 3 days,The SSS had shared actively in the IFMSA-Egypt's second winter camp in Assuit with one of the biggest delegations.about 18 members contributed in different sessions & trainings .there were session for the public health committee SCOPH ,for Reproductive health committee SCORA ,Humanetrian projects committee SCOHP,Medical education committee SCOME, & Exchange committees SCOPE /SCORE ,in addition to a large variety of trainings like :Leadership,communications skills ,conflicts management & advocacy in health sectors
